All Madison Packer Backers and their guests are invited to join us as the Green Bay Packers take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday, October 17th. We’ll return to Pitchers Pub (323 W Beltline Hwy, Madison) for this fun event to cheer on our favorite team. Forms and payment must be received by September 24th. The 2021 Hall of Fame Banquet is finally set for Thursday, September 2nd, 2021 after being postponed and rescheduled multiple times. Al Harris and Charles Woodson will be inducted this year. After a brief hiatus last year, we’re excited that we can resume our tradition of attending a Milwaukee Brewers game each year. We’ll go on Wednesday, July 21st to see them play the Kansas City Royals. Finally, we can get together and visit with our fellow Madison Packer Backers!!!

All Madison Packer Backers club members are invited to our 2021 Annual Club Meeting on Sunday, June 27th at 1:00pm in the Essen Haus Madison. Our Annual Club Meeting (required by our club bylaws) will include the approval of our 2020 meeting mailing, a club financial review and updates of club activities from the Board of Directors and Officers. (Note: there is no biennial voting this year for Club Officers). The floor will be open for club members to ask questions and to provide input and suggestions.

50/50 tickets will be available with the proceeds being raised for our annual club donation to the Rawhide Youth Services (formerly Rawhide Boy’s Ranch). We will have a special drawing for all club members in attendance for a chance to win (2) bus & ticket packages for a 2021 preseason Packer game!!!

There is no cost to attend the annual meeting (you may purchase your own food and beverages), but please let us know if you’re planning to attend by emailing madisonpackerbackers@gmail.com or returning the sign-up form. Hello Packer Fans,

As I was contacting communities regarding parades, I found they had either decided to cancel or they changed how they are doing parades. 

Since many have canceled their parades and us trying to figure out how to follow CDC guidelines, the Board of Directors and Officers have decided that MPB will not participate this year in any parades.  

I hope that you are well and I look forward to next year when hopefully, we will be back in business.  It has been a hard year and a half.  I hope all of you are physically and mentally well.  Please take care.

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 Coronavirus on our activities, we skipped the April Newsletter.  The July Newsletter and Member Survey results are currently at the printer.  Due to staffing issues and the upcoming Holiday we anticipate distribution of the Newsletter and Survey during the week of July 6.

We hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. We are writing about our Annual Meeting scheduled for June 6 which we previously announced was “on hold.” While the statewide Safer at Home order has been halted, many counties and other local governments have instituted their own local restrictions. Regardless, even if legally allowable it simply will not be wise or practical for our club to plan a large gathering for our members in early June. Thus, the Annual Meeting will not take place June 6. Officer elections are scheduled to take place this year, but per our club bylaws the Board is permitted to delay the election of club officers, if necessary. The current officers have all graciously offered to remain in their positions until such time as we can safely and properly hold elections. In this case, we are considering all options for the meeting and elections including postponement, hosting a virtual meeting, and holding elections by mail. If you are interested in learning more about any of the officer positions with the club, please reach out to the current office holders or any board member to learn more about the positions.

Much like the upcoming NFL and MLB seasons, and a great many other activities, at this point we are simply in a wait-and-see mode. The board members remain in regular contact with each other and will continue to monitor all aspects of club activities and keep our members informed as things evolve.
