It is with a heavy heart that the Madison Packer Backers announce the passing of club co-founder Rilla Belle “Rooty” Leigh, who passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at age 88, at the BeeHive Homes of Oregon.

DEPARTURE: 1:00 p.m.–Walmart Back Packing Area at South Towne (Please arrive 15 minutes early for check in) Dress is casual—No shorts please or tank tops.
PRICE: $40 for members and $45.00 for non-members
RETURN: Approximately 9:15 p.m.
Menu: Fried Lake Perch, Fried/Baked Haddock, Shrimp, Chicken and a Combo Platter along with a salad and potatoes. Meal prices range from $11 – $20. There is a cookie too, however beverage is additional charge.
We must have a minimum of 40 people to attend this event or the bus will be cancelled. If the bus is cancelled, carpooling is an option that will be explored & checks shredded. Reminder: No glass items on the bus.

All Madison Packer Backers members are cordially invited to our 2023 Annual Meeting.
The meeting will take place at 11:00am at the Breakwater in Monona. Doors will open for registration at 10:00am with time to socialize with your fellow club members. No meal is planned for our group, but there is a menu available with breakfast or lunch options to choose from before or after our annual meeting.
Free parking is available next to the building. Free public parking has also been added since our last visit at this location in the parking ramps under the big apartment buildings surrounding the Breakwater.
Our Annual Club Meeting (required by our club bylaws) will include the approval of our 2022 meeting minutes, a club financial review and updates of club activities from the Board of Directors and Officers. The floor will be open for club members to ask questions and to provide input and suggestions. (Note: there is no biennial voting this year for Club Officers).
There will also be a discussion on the Electronic Game Day Tickets along with the new proposed electronic ordering and purchasing of the Club Packer tickets for the upcoming season.

Come join the Madison Packer Backers cheer on the GBP vs Giants on Sunday 10/9/22 at the Essen Haus Restaurant & Bar (514 E Wilson St. Madison) Game starts at 8:30 A.M. .Should you want breakfast before the game the Come Back In Tavern (next door) will be open at 7:00 a.m. Essen Haus bar will be open at 8:00 a.m. and serving drink specials :
Bloody Mary’s and Mimosa (OJ and champagne)@ $4/each. Snacks will be available.

Doors will open at 10:00am for registration and a cash bar will be available. Leroy Butler will be available at 10:30am with autographed copies of his hardcover book,
The LeRoy Butler Story, From Wheelchair to the Lambeau Leap ($50 autographed). The brunch buffet will open around 11:00am for dining, followed by our program. We’ll hear from our featured guest and have an opportunity to ask a few questions!
Our Annual Business Meeting will include the approval of the 2021 meeting minutes, a financial review and updates of club activities from the Board of Directors and Officers. As per our bylaws, biennial voting ballots will also be cast for our club officer positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer & Secretaries (Please see the newsletter for descriptions). The floor will be open for club members to ask questions and to give input and suggestions.
50/50 tickets will be available with the proceeds being raised for our annual club donation to the Rawhide Youth Services (formerly Rawhide Boy’s Ranch).
